The most successful weekend in recent memory for IONIC Edge Chassis came in the Midwest. In one of the largest LO206 events on the year, IONIC Edge drivers came home loaded with hardware.
Starting with the future stars of the series, IONIC Edge pilot Audrina Rowe set the bar high with top 3 runs in qualifying on each day. Audrina drove a smart race weekend as a whole, and that began with her heats on Saturday. It put her in the hunt for the lead by the time the main event came around. She capitalized on a small mistake ahead to take over the top spot en route to the win in the Kid Kart class. Sunday saw her take command even earlier on in the day, leading her first heat early and then refusing to surrender the top spot through to the end of the Final for win #2.
Will Holtz put IONIC Edge to the top of the boards early with a top 3 qualifying run on Saturday. From there, Will was almost untouchable. He went on to not only take a big win on Saturday, but follow it up with a dominating sweep of official sessions on Sunday. Consistently finding hundredths throughout the weekend, Will was able to put together his best overall weekend to date. Rookie Jayelynn Kerr joined Will in repping the IONIC Edge banner in the division, and she made major strides throughout the event.
206 CIK Masters
Jeff Scott matched Will’s phenomenal run with a weekend sweep of his own. Scott initially qualified 2nd on Saturday, but from there on he took both main event wins and the pole award on Sunday. His pole on Sunday was even more impressive by only being able to put one lap in due to a mechanical issue. A fantastic performance made even more so by the fact that Scott had never driven at Concept Haulers Motor Speedway prior to Friday.
